LMS Update 8-26-18

Hello, Wildcat Parents,

In an effort to keep you in the loop, I will be sharing with you the weekly email that I send to students.

Hello, Wildcats!

Hello! This has been a great week with things running pretty smoothly!

This week will be ABCAB with normal ATLs.  The Setting the Tone Assemblies will be held during ATL on Thursday

Monday, August 27

-Picture day:  Click here to access the picture schedule showing the times students are to be in the multi-purpose room to be photographed.  You should be in the Multipurpose room at the time your homeroom teacher’s name is listed. Even if your parents don’t want to purchase pictures, we want as many students in the Cat Tracks yearbook as possible, so get your picture made!  If you do want to purchase pictures, be sure to bring payment to the photographer when photographed.  Remember, you got your picture payment and order form envelopes on Friday during 8th period.

-fLex Pass begins:  Mr. Cafferty sent an email to 7th and 8th graders who qualified for fLex Pass. During ATL, he will make an all call for students who received the email to report to the Theatre to receive the information letter and their fLex Pass.

Wednesday, August 29

-Dr. Little visits LMS!  He will be going to each classroom to greet you and will even make a special guest appearance on the News Show. I am so excited to show off the amazing things we are doing at LMS.

Football Jamboree at IRMO at 6:30

Thursday, August 30

Welcome Back Wildcats!

Hello, Wildcats.

We can’t wait to see all of our Wildcats bright and early tomorrow morning for the first day of the 2018-19 school year.

Here are a few items that we wanted to be sure to communicate to you. These will make the first day run more smoothly.

Please refer to the traffic map you picked up at registration.  This will help you determine the route and car loop that is best for your family for drop off and pick up.  We will do our best to maintain an orderly and smooth traffic flow but encourage use of the bus system and carpooling and much patience during the first few weeks of school until everyone is used to the procedures.

Town of Lexington administrators ask us to remind you that the Town of Lexington has implemented some traffic pattern changes designed to improve the flow of traffic in downtown Lexington, and these changes could affect your drive as you bring your children to and from school.   These changes split traffic flow at North Lake Drive and Church Street, making each street one way until just before Lexington Elementary school.  You can learn more about the Downtown Traffic Improvements by the town website at www.lexsc.com.

For the first two day of school all students will report to their homerooms.  We will have lots of adults on campus in the mornings and throughout the day to help students find their way to their homerooms and to their classes.

As always, please refer to our school website at lms.lexington1.net and follow us on Twitter at @lexingtonmiddle and on our new official Facebook page titled Lexington Middle School (https://www.facebook.com/LexingtonMiddleSchool/).

Again, we look forward to seeing all of your smiling faces tomorrow morning! This is going to be a great school year!

New Security Measure Implementation Begins

Hello, Wildcat Parents.

I wanted to make you aware that Lexington One is implementing an enhanced version of the district’s visitor management system beginning tomorrow.

As part of this upgrade, everyone will be required to present his/her driver’s license when entering the school or any Lexington One facility. There will be no exceptions to this.  We so appreciate your understanding and patience while everyone becomes familiar with the upgraded system. The safety of our students and staff has always been the top priority at Lexington One.

Thank you and have a great evening!
