Schedule Pick-up on Tuesday, August 2nd 8am-6pm

Hello, Wildcats!

We are so excited to welcome you back to Lexington Middle School! Here’s some important information:

Our LMS Schedule Pick up Day is this Tuesday, August 2nd from 8am to 6pm. We look forward to seeing you then. You can find information on what you’ll need to bring to schedule pick up and many more back-to-school details by clicking on this link.

For those parents and students who are returning to LMS, we expect the whole process to take no more than 20 minutes if you have completed InfoSnap online. If you need help with InfoSnap before Tuesday, need a snapcode or password, or just have questions, we are available in the front office on Monday from 8am to 4:30.

If you need to complete InfoSnap here at school on the day of schedule pick up, we can help you complete all of the requirements in one of our computer labs.

Also, for rising sixth graders and new students, we will have Cat Camp on Thursday, August 4th, from 6-7:30. Students should report to the cafeteria. At 7pm in the Theater, we will repeat the parent meeting we held last spring while the kids are a camp. Parents can meet in the theater at 7pm.

If you haven’t done your back to school shopping yet, here is our 2016-17 supply list. 8th grade students should be working on their summer reading. If you need any information about summer reading, you can find it here on our website.

We are so excited to have all of our Wildcats back on campus and can’t wait to launch another great school year!

See you all on Tuesday!

LMS Update!

Happy Sunday, Wildcats!

We are so proud of our kids for finishing up state testing last week.  We are sure they did great.

Happy travels to our band students and 8th graders who are in Florida this weekend!

Next Thursday, May 19, is our annual Spring Arts showcase.  We hope the whole community with join us for a night of visual and performing arts.  You will be amazed by the talent of our awesome students. You can enjoy fantastic performances and art displays from 6:00-7:45 p.m. Come out and enjoy a great night!

Our 6th and 7th grade students will be returning their iPads this summer on May 25.  They will receive a letter on Monday with details about our collection process, and we will be talking to them over the next week about backing up their materials.  Please look for an email with this information and a printed copy to come home on Monday, or check our website for details.

Yearbooks were distributed Friday. If you would like to purchase a yearbook for $65, the remaining copies are available on a first-come, first-served basis in the front office. Congratulations to our Cat Tracks Yearbook Staff on a wonderful 2016 Yearbook!

As we wrap up the year, please check the status of your lunch accounts.  We will not allow students to charge lunch if they have a negative balance the last week of school.  Again, students will not be allowed to charge lunch the last week of school if there is no money in the account.  They will receive a replacement meal instead.  Our cafeteria manager can help answer questions if you aren’t sure about your current balance.

Parents, if your child has any medicine or medical supplies stored with our nurses, please swing by the school before the end of the year to pick up these supplies.  Our health room is not staffed over the summer.

6th graders, our TDAP clinic at school has been moved to May 20.  There is still time to sign up if you haven’t done so yet.  All seventh graders in our state must provide verification for TDAP before beginning the school year.

8th graders, we hope you plan to be at the Lexington One Performing Arts Center at Lexington High on May 26 for our 8th grade completion ceremony.  We want students to check in at 5:45 to be ready to begin at 6:00.

We’re approaching the finish line at LMS, but staying busy as always.  Our students continue to amaze us every day.  Thanks for all you do everyday to make LMS a great place.

This Week at LMS!

Hello, Wildcats!

Today we will begin SC Ready testing.  Students will test in writing and English/Language Arts on Tuesday and Wednesday (April 26 and 27), and math on Thursday (April 28). Please get plenty of rest the night before and eat a good breakfast in the morning! Testing will begin right at the beginning of the day, so we’re asking our Wildcats to come to school on time and ready to show-off what they know. We are super proud of our students for always doing their best in whatever they do!

PTO will be selling Chik-Fil-A biscuits Thursday morning (April 28th) for $3.00 to benefit the LMS Beta Club. Enjoy a yummy breakfast and support this great organization!

We also want to congratulate our LMS chorus who recently scored Superior in their state performance assessment.  Way to go, Wildcats!

Auditions for the Lexington Middle Dance Company’s Elite Competition Team and the Wildcat Dance Crew will be held in the LMS theater on May 4th.  For information and audition packets, contact our front office or email Coach Tribble at

If you want to check out some of our talented Wildcats, plan to be here on May 19th for our annual Spring Arts Festival. It’s a great night celebrating the work of all of our awesome visual and performing arts students!

It’s almost time for our 8th Grade Celebration, but we need your help, 8th grade parents! Click here for a sign-up list for items needed and volunteer opportunities for our celebration. The PTO really appreciates your help!

What’s Happening at LMS?

Hello! This is Ryan Pool, principal at Lexington Middle.

This Wednesday is an early release day for students.  Students will be dismissed at 12:40.  We will be serving breakfast and lunch.

For our 8th graders, we will spend the morning touring the high schools.  Students will ride the bus to the school they are zoned to attend next year.  If we haven’t received a permission form, it’s not too late.

For students who completed their IB community project and returned a permission form, we will leave school at 12:40 for an afternoon celebration at Saluda Shoals.  8th grade parents, you are invited to join us at Saluda Shoals too.  We will be at the Cattail Shelter from 1:00 – 3:00.  Let the front gate know you are with LMS.  Students are welcome to leave with their parents or they can ride the bus back to LMS to be picked up by 3:30.

All faculty and staff will be at Saluda Shoals celebrating these awesome kids, so our front office will closed Wednesday afternoon.

There is a lot going on at LMS.  We are updating our website with the latest information about academics, athletics and the arts.

As always, thanks for all you do to make LMS a great place every day.  Have an awesome night.

Ryan T. Pool

Principal, Lexington Middle School

Hello, Wildcats!

Students received report cards Friday, April 8th.  We are proud of our students’ hard work.  Let’s set some goals so that we end the year strong.  Students in design, arts, or performing arts courses should have a new score report showing IB ratings.  We have included a chart for each student in the report card packet that helps explain how the ratings reflect the student’s level of growth in the subject.

Our students are continuing to MAP test and it’s going great.  We are getting lots of great information to help us prepare for state testing later this month.

On Monday and Tuesday, we will be collecting box tops.  Look through your pantry this weekend and send in your boxtops.  Families participating in box top collections can win prizes from the PTO! Click here for more information!

Congratulations to 8th grader Brian B. on being selected to participate in the Governer’s School for the Arts and Humanities Summer Discovery program for violin.  What a great honor!

Good luck to our orchestra as they travel and compete in Orlando this weekend at the Orlando Music Festival.  We also want to wish good luck to the LMS Band as they participate in the Charleston Music Festival.  We know you will make us proud!

The LMS Office of School Counseling wants to share a great resource from Naviance with you called Family Connection. If you haven’t already signed into Naviance as a parent, they will be sending you a personal access code and instructions for accessing Family Connection. If you have any questions about the program, please call 821-3734.

If you are a rising 7th or 8th grade student athlete who will attend River Bluff High School, click here for some information about sports physicals.

We hope you all enjoyed your weekend.  Thanks for all you do to make LMS a great place every day!
